What is ISO Certification Body?
ISO Certification body is an independent company that conduct ISO Certification audits. An organization which would like to achieve ISO certification will need to audit by certification body. ISO Certification Body is certified by accreditation body to conformed to ISO/IEC 17021 and make sure they continue to meet standards.
ISO Certification Body will issue the ISO certificate to the organization, if the audit is successfully complied.
How long is the ISO Certificate Validity?
ISO Certificate is usually valid for 3 years, but every year certification body will need to conduct the Surveillance audit to ensure the organisation is still follow the ISO requirements.
Who is Department of Standards Malaysia (DSM)?
The Department of Standards Malaysia (Standards Malaysia or DSM) is the National standards Body and the National Accreditation Body, providing confidence to various stakeholders, through credible standardization and accreditation services for global competitiveness. Their Vision is to be “Accepted by Malaysian, recognized by the world”.
How to appeal certification status?
Step 1 : Email to [admin(at)pearl-certification.com] Certification Manager (within 30 days) with cause of dissatisfaction
Step 2: Certification Manager will prepare a dossier for the Appeal Committee & supporting evidence
Step 3: Certification Manager examine and identify any non-conformity
Step 4: Certification Manager conduct Appeal Committee with at least 2 independent IIC members
Step 5: complainant and the PCSB auditor shall state their case in private
Step 6: Appeal Committee validating and investigating
Step 7: Appeal Committee vote
Step 8: Appeal Committee make decision based on majority vote
Step 9: Certification Manager inform appellant with decision and reason
How to make compliant on certification status?
Step 1 : Email the compliant to [admin(at)pearl-certification.com] Certification Manager
Step 2: Certification Manager check whether:
a) the company is certified by PCSB –> Continue Step 3
b) the company is not certified by PCSB –> Inform complainant that is not our certified customer
Step 3: Certification Manager acknowledge the complaint and investigate
Step 4: Certification Manager explain that PCSB will not become a party to the dispute
Step 5: Certification Manager write to the company explaining that a complaint has been received
a) if normal compliant, will be review in next surveillance audit
b) if serious compliant, will arrange a special visit
Step 6: Certification Manager file the compliant
How Should i do if i would like to extend or reduce my certificate scope?
For extending scope, Pearl Certification in response to an application for expanding the scope of a certification already granted, undertake a review of the application and determine any audit activities necessary to decide whether or not the extension may be granted. This may be conducted in conjunction with a surveillance audit.
While for reducing scope, every 3 years the management system needs to be re-assessed. Following satisfactory re-certification your certificate is reissued for a further three years.

What will affect an certification suspending or Withdraw?
If client’s certified management system is consistently failing to meet the relative standard in terms of compliance and effectiveness, or client has postponed the audit beyond the required assessment frequency for their surveillance audit or re-certification audit, it may affect their certification and cause suspension. The certificate will be temporary invalid, if it’s in suspension mode. The suspension issue have to resolve within 6 months to restore back the certification validity. If fail to do so, the certification will be withdrawn.
Can we use Pearl certification’s name and certification mark or logo on our product or company?
If your company are certified by Pearl Certification, you can use the Pearl Certification’s certification, mark or logo with follow below rules.
- The certificate shall only be displayed at the location applicable to the certificated scope of supply.
- The certificate shall not be used to imply certification of any location other than that detailed on the certificate.
- The certificate shall not be used in any way to imply product approval.
- The certification mark shall always be used on certificates issued in conjunction with the Client’s name and have the certificate number adjacent to it.
- The certification mark may be used on stationery, such as headed letter paper and advertising brochures, and only in connection with the International QMS Standard scope of supply listed on the certificate.
- The certification mark shall not be used on flags, buildings, vehicles, packaging, directly on products, nor on promotional products such as calendars, diaries, coasters, etc.
- The certification mark shall not be used in any way to imply product approval, nor on documentation such as test certificates and certificates of conformity.
- The certificated Client shall, upon reasonable notice, discontinue any use of the mark which is considered to be unacceptable to Pearl Certification.
